All about the Himachal with Amritsar – 7 Days.

Dalhousie, town, northwestern Himachal Pradesh state, northwestern India. It was named for a British viceroy of colonial India, Lord Dalhousie. Situated in the Himalayan foothills at an elevation of some 7,500 feet (2,300 metres), it is 26 miles (42 km) northeast of Pathankot, with which it is linked by road.

Dalhousie is a hill station and a popular summer resort, offering relief from the heat of the plain to the south. Panjab University has a vacation centre there for teachers of its affiliated colleges. Popular sites in the Dalhousie area include the Sat Dhara (“Seven Streams”), which are rich in mica and flow beneath Panjpula (“Five Bridges”), a memorial to revolutionary Bhagat Singh; Subhash Baoli, a natural spring; and Dainkund Peak, also known as Singing Hill, so called because of the sound of the wind blowing through the trees there. The cantonment of Balun is just to the north. Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary lies about 6 miles (10 km) from the town.

  1. Day 1 Amritsar – Dalhousie

    Arrive in Amritsar, pickup from Amritsar Airport/Railway Station & proceed to Dalhousie(198 Kms./ 5 Hour drive). Upon arrival check in to hotel & rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight in Dalhousie.

  2. Day 2 Dalhousie

    After breakfast proceed to Khajjar which is considered as mini Swiss, enjoy breathtaking views & Khajjar Lake, Chamera Lake view point. Overnight in Dalhousie.

  3. Day 3 Dalhousie – Dharamshala

    After breakfast check out & proceed to Dharamshala(120 Kms/4 hours drive). Visit Bhagsunath Temple & Namgyal Monastery also known as Dalai Lama Temple. Later check in to hotel for overnight.

  4. Day 4 Dharamshala

    After breakfast visit Jawala ji Temple & Aganjar Mahadev Temple. Second half free for shopping at McLeod Ganj Market. Overnight in Dharamshala.

  5. Day 5 Dharamshala – Amritsar

    After breakfast check out & proceed to Amritsar(200 Kms./5 hours drive). On arrival check in to hotel & rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight in Amritsar.

  6. Day 6 Amritsar

    After breakfast visit Golden Temple – Holiest shrine of Sikh Religion, Jallianwala Bagh & later visit Wagah Border to witness Beating Retreat Ceremony. Visit Sadda Pind to enjoy traditional Punjabi cultural & dining experience all at one place. Overnight in Amritsar.

  7. Day 7 Amritsar Departure

    After breakfast free time at leisure till check out & later drop to Amritsar Airport/Railway Station for your journey back home.
